Baby Weight

It has recently been brought to my attention that I have very sweet friends who lie to my face and tell me that I wasn't fat during my pregnancy. Well, thanks for trying to spare my feelings but I know I was huge and so I thought I would post a picture to prove my point. Check out my clown feet the day after Hill was born.

Teeth at Two Months

Hill has two bottom teeth! Yes, that is really early. The average age for most children to get teeth is at least six months. She is handling it really well considering she doesn't have the ability to hold on to any teething toys yet. Instead, she sticks her hands in her mouth and goes to town. On top of the teething issue, I have discovered that her reflux medicine and baby Tylenol for her teeth do not mix well on her stomach. Yesterday morning while bouncing her to sleep at work she decided to throw up a good four ounces of milk, pink Tylenol, and red prilosec. I was covered and she was wet to the bone. I had to pack her up in the car seat in the freezing cold, drive back home and give her a bath, change her clothes, change my clothes, then go back to work. Needless to say, it wasn't the best day in the world. I have learned my lesson and will stagger the medicines next time. Since I don't have any teeth pictures, here are a few other ones.

Oscar's Fashion According to Me

Loved:
Katherine Heigl (flawless)
Hilary Swank (just looked put together)
Renne Zellweger (liked that she really glammed it up in the full length beading)
Jennifer Garner (loved the necklace)
Miley Cyrus (my favorite dress neckline)
Marion Cotillard (out of the box)
Jessica Alba (different than red)

Hated:
Nicole Kidman (dress too short)
Cameron Diaz (no lipstick and wrinkled dress)
Jennifer Hudson (proudly displaying her quadruple D's and the back fat, yuck)
Ellen Page (poor thing, she borrowed maw maw's dress)
What's her face who won best supporting actress (velour sack, need I say more)
George Clooney's date (looked like she was getting ready to go skip around a may pole)

I refuse to comment on Ann Hathaway or Keri Russell (secretly love) because they are too skinny to count. Everyone else was pretty forgettable and I honestly don't care about the guys. Overall, most everyone played it safe and made for a pretty boring red carpet.

Small Celebrity Obsession

Is it bad that I've been watching E's coverage of the Oscars since 10:00 this morning? To my defense, there is nothing else good on TV and I've already watched the past two episodes of Project Runway on DVR. I'm really not liking Debbie Mat's look and I can't wait to critique the other celebs! P.S. Kim Kardiashian is helping host and she definitely needs to keep her day job. Oh wait, she doesn't have a day job.

Swingin'

Hill's new favorite thing to do is sit in her swing. I am selfishly so excited about it because it frees my hands and time up to get some things done around the house. Plus, for the first few weeks of her life, she would scream or projectile vomit every time I put her in the swing. I hated that we'd spent money on something she hated and it is quite a contraption that takes up half of my living room. Here are some pictures of Hill napping in her swing.

A Dad's Love

This morning as Hill was watching her mobile, Kyle just blurted out "I love her so much." I thought, oh, how sweet. Then he said, "I mean it, I just can't get enough of her, I'm obsessed."

"If anything ever happened to her I would kill someone. I'm not kidding really kill them." Ok, not so sweet anymore, a little scary.

The Sock

Everyday I put socks on Hill's feet to keep them warm. I laugh every time I put them on because she has these wild pinky toes that stick out to the side and they always get stuck in the socks. I started to notice that every time I would go to get her out of her crib after a nap or after watching her mobile, her left sock would be off. Because of that, I've been making a point to make sure that are socks are on and pulled up tight over her wild toes. Still, every time, the left sock is off! Only the left one! Yesterday, the left sock was up above her head. How did that happen? She's not that agile yet. I can't figure it out and it is driving me crazy. I'm contemplating setting up a hidden camera. Here's a picture of the toes so you'll know what I'm dealing with:

Body Pump

Kyle and I joined the Y a few weeks ago and I have been going to Body Pump on Tuesday's and Thursday's. For those of you who don't know what Body Pump is, it is a high rep weight lifting class set to music. If after reading this you decide to go, I highly recommend not putting the same weights on the bar that the instructor does. Because you might feel like you're going to die, barely be able to walk to your car, not be able to push down the breaks without your calf muscle quivering and not be able to walk up or down stairs for a week. Now, I'm not saying that happened to me, but I have learned my lesson and now thoroughly enjoy the class. I am especially entertained by the girl who thinks she is hot stuff but is the most un-coordinated person I have ever seen, the men who put too much weight on then stop lifting when the instructor isn't looking and the old man who comes to the class and does nothing we do. I think he just likes to hear the music. The only thing that I can't seem to understand is why the instructor isn't ripped. I mean, not even a little ripped. She might even be bigger than me. She actually has a muffin top! Surely I'm not working my fanny off two nights a week just to continue to wear maternity clothes. Oh well, I am going to keep going to the class even if it's just for entertainment value.

New at this...kind of

I've been wanting to start one of these forever, but for those of you who know me well, I kept procrastinating until I convinced myself that it was too late. Too late for what? I really don't know, but that's what I do. I really do have the BEST intentions, just not so good at always following through. As for being new at this...kind of, this is my first online blog but not my first blog. When all of my friends from work abandoned me for bigger and better things I decided to start a blog of all that happened throughout the day. It was called "A day in the life at Intermark". Yes, I know, incredibly creative title. I had to email it out because I couldn't post it online because, well, I would have been fired. That blog was the only thing that kept me sane those last few months. Not that I'm insane now, but I thought this blog would be a great way of keeping friends and family up to date on what is going on in our lives. Plus, another thing I am not so great at is communicating over the phone. See, I know myself well, and I know that after twenty seven years (yikes) I am probably not going to change. So here goes...

A lot has happened in our lives this year, but the most important thing was the birth of our precious baby girl Hill Kathryn Hudlow. She is amazing and I love her more and more every day. Here are a few pics from the past two months:
