Make It Work

If you don't know the meaning or the source of those three little words, then you can probably go ahead and stop reading because you will never be able to fully appreciate the awesomeness of what just happened to me. I'll set the stage for you. Typical Saturday morning at the Hudlow house, Kyle, Hill and I headed to O'Henrys for our morning coffee with the Bennett family. There I was, in my baseball hat, no makeup, target pants, 15 year old Camp Winnataska t-shirt, Patagonia fleece and tennis shoes, contemplating whether I should go with the fresh out of the oven cinnamon chip muffin or my regular peach muffin, when I suddenly felt this air of greatness behind me. When I turned around, there he was, in his perfectly tailored pin stripe suit. Believe me when I say he stuck out like a sore thumb surrounded by a sea of track pants and sweat shirts. At first I couldn't believe my eyes, then I went into celebrity shock. Increased heart rate, profuse sweating, giddiness, loss of memory. I nudged Kyle and whispered, "Oh, my gosh, I'm freaking out, what's his name?" Luckily, I have forced Kyle to watch my shows enough that he was able to calmly answer "Tim Gunn". Cinnamon Chip muffin in hand I scurried over to our table to announce to Rhett and Mindy that I was freaking out. After blank stares and questions about who he was, they gave me the encouragement I needed to go introduce myself. Here's how the conversation went:
Me: I have to know what Tim Gunn is doing here in Birmingham
Tim: (shaking my hand) Well, I just finished doing a TV spot down the street and at 1:00 I am doing a Liz Claiborne fashion show at the Riverchase Galleria. You should come.
Me: That is great, I'll try to make it (no intentions to go). I am so embarrassed that I am dressed like this, I am a huge fan of yours.
Tim: Oh, don't be silly, it's Saturday. I just love this area, it is so quaint and this (referring to the O'Henrys) is wonderful.
Me: I know, I love it too, we come here every morning. It was so nice to meet you.
Tim: Tell me your name
Me: (what's my name?) Uh, Lynlee
I can't believe that just happened. For a little background, Tim Gunn is IT as far as I'm concerned. I have been watching Project Runway since the beginning and am currently obsessed with his new show Guide to Style. If Tim Gunn said that it was classy to wear a potato sack, I would probably do it. His taste is impeccable and he is always spot on in his fashion advice. So, there you have it, that made my year and in the words of Project Runway Season 5 finalist, Blayne "Holla at your boy."

Halloween - A week late

Sorry I am so behind on my posting but we have had lots going on. Emergency brain surgery on a close friend, premature labor and birth of a friend's baby, total demolition of our kitchen with no plumbing for a week, leaking bathroom sink that Kyle thought we should just go ahead and get rid of, visit from the Thames twins, 24 hour throw up bug...that's all I can think of right now ;-) So, to keep things short, here are some pictures from Halloween festivities at Mothers Day Out and Halloween Night.
